Involved in the equine industry from an early age, April started out as a young enthusiast, cleaning stalls for lessons. As she got older, it was clear she possessed the talent to work with a variety of horses and the equitation to draw crowds. She remained the top junior rider in equitation and hunter divisions for a number of years. Her talent, hard work, and willingness to help out anyone didn't go unnoticed and she was awarded with a scholarship from the Illinois Hunter Jumper Association.
Progressing through a successful career showing, April continued training, teaching, and working with problem horses while attending the Art Institute. Graduating with honors from one of the most prestigious design schools in the country, April began looking for ways to utilize her skills within the equine publishing industry.
April provides professional photography and graphic design for equestrians and publications around the world. Equine focused materials demand not only an understanding of horses, but also an ability to create imagery outside the studio & away from the computer. April knows how to get the most out of more than lighting, backdrops, and fonts; she knows how to get the most out of the entire package.
Specializing in creating high impact art quality images that also sell product, April captures images & creates materials steeped in the fine art tradition, believing that an image should function to capture the eye, the attention, the imagination, and the purchasing power of the viewer.
